The Butterfly Effect tells the story of Karl Lokko - a young man from South London - from his early teens to his mid-twenties. It follows the extraordinary transition from his life as a marginalised, disaffected youth on one of London's most dangerous estates, to that of a committed social reformer welcomed into the wealthy and influential circles of the capital.
Karl's original identity as a rapper is re-shaped through a brand of poetry which shares the unbending will to expose injustice and lies as well as the hypnotic rhythm of rap, but is tempered and enriched by a poignancy, an intensity and diversity of emotions which transcend the anger that fuels both.
